Patrick, ich habe jetzt mal angenommen, Du hast die mittlere der Belüfterpumpe von DongYang DY 60 mi einer Leistung von 60l/min. Wenn das nicht stimmt, korrigiere mich bitte. Übertragen auf meinen Biofilter mit etwa 40-50l Medium, wäre das dann eine Luftmenge um die 10 l/min. Und Glücklicherweise liegt das in der Größenordnung, die in meiner Anlage zur Verfügung steht. Was die Auswahl des Mediums angeht, werde ich mich an die Aussage von WolfAqua in seinem Video "Biofilter Medien (Deutsch)" auf seinem Youtube-Kanal halten. Er gibt dort an, dass basierend auf seinen Erfahrungen Flakes bzw. Chips mit weniger Luft in Bewegung gehalten werden können als Helix.
Hier mal eine ganz kuze Beschreibung meiner Anlage:
Das CHOP-System steht in einem ca 10m² großen Gewächshaus und besteht aus:
2 Ebbeflut Beete ca 500 l feuchtes Substrat
1 GWC bzw. Fischtank 200l
Sumpf 450l
1 Fischtank ca 800l (IBC)
1 Radial-Flow-Settler 120l Tonne
1 Biofilter 120l Tonne
An dem IBC Fischtank und die beiden Filter baue ich gerade, nachdem ich zum Saisonstart Probleme mit einem alten GFK-Tank hatte. Dadurch hatte ich keinen nennenswerten Besatz und habe die Pflanzen der Anlage mit Brenneseljauche und PK-Biodünger versorgt. Da ich meine Starkzehrer im Dual-Root-System gepflanzt habe, ist die Ernte trotzdem ausgezeichnet.
Ich habe mich für eine zusätzliche Filtrationsstufe entschieden, weil ich das System so optional entkoppeln kann, dann ist ein Kreislauf so wie jetzt Ebbe-Flut-Beete, DWC und Sumpf und der Andere Fischtank und die Filter. Dies kann an verschiedenen stellen hiflreich sein: Quarantäne, Temperaturoptimierung, Wartung, Nährstoffmanagement usw.

zu deiner Thematik Bzgl. Chips finde ich eine gute Idee wenn der Besatz und somit die Heterotrophie nicht zu stark belastet wird.
Grundlegen muss man in der Biologietechnik davon ausgehen, dass Helix beim Abbau von Mikrobelastung effektiver arbeiten kann als bei Chips.
Man muss sich das vereinfach so Vorstellen: Wir haben beim Helix eine Äußere und eine Innere "Hülle/Tunnel". Die Autotrophen Bakterien setzt sich hierbei
vermehrt im Äußeren Bereich und die Heterotrophen im Inneren Bereich am Helix ab. Das ganze hat auch damit zu tun wie schnell sich die Bakterien Fortpflanzen
können. Autotrophen Bakterien vermehren sich sehr schnell und benötigen nicht so viel zeit für den Abbau der Stoffen wie Heterotrophe, die sich sehr langsam und sehr viel länger
für den Abbau benötigen.
Warum sich nun Helix besser bewährt hat ist, das sich Heterotrophe Bakterien im Inneren des Helix sammeln können und sich demnach mehr Heterotrophe Bakterien ansammeln können, was
zu einer besseren Abbauleistung der Schadstoffe führt.
